Development: A Live-Action Godzilla Series Is in the Works at Apple TV+

Legendary’s Monsterverse will be making the jump to television with a live-action series which will feature Godzilla and the Titans which is currently in the works for Apple TV+. Deadline gives the following description for the project:

Following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco and the shocking new reality that monsters are real, the untitled series explores one family’s journey to uncover its buried secrets and a legacy linking them to the secret organization known as Monarch.

The series comes from Legendary Television with Chris Black and Matt Fraction as co-creators and executive producers. The former will also serve as showrunner.  Toho Co. Ltd. is also involved with Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita attached as executive producers.

This is early in development and will probably not debut on the streaming service until late 2022 or early 2023. The Monsterverse movies include Godzilla (2014), Kong: Skull Island (2017), Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019), and Godzilla vs. Kong (2021).
