Sci Fi TV Trailers This Week: His Dark Materials S3, American Horror Story NYC, Mayfair Witches, and More

Sci Fi TV Trailers: A rundown of the teasers, trailers, featurettes, and the occasional retro-trailer related to sci fi and fantasy television released over the past week.


His Dark Materials (HBO): Based on author Philip Pullman’s beloved trilogy, His Dark Materials follows Lyra, a brave young woman from another world. Lyra’s quest to find her kidnapped friend leads her to uncover a sinister plot of a secret organization, encounter extraordinary beings and protect dangerous secrets. The third and final season premieres December 5th.



American Horror Story (FX): The horror moves to New York in this show’s eleventh season which premieres October 19th.



Mayfair Witches (AMC): Based on Anne Rice’s Lives of the Mayfair Witches, Mayfair Witches is an exploration of female power and the mortal implications of our decisions. Mayfair Witches focuses on an intuitive young neurosurgeon (Alexandra Daddario) who discovers that she is the unlikely heir to a family of witches. As she grapples with her newfound powers, she must contend with a sinister presence that has haunted her family for generations. Premieres January 5th.



Doctor Who (BBC America): “The Power of the Doctor” brings the final adventure for the 13th Doctor and premieres on BBC America October 23rd.



The Legend of Vox Machina (Prime Video): They’re rowdy, they’re ragtag, they’re misfits turned mercenaries for hire. Vox Machina is more interested in easy money and cheap ale than actually protecting the realm. But when the kingdom is threatened by evil, this boisterous crew realizes that they are the only ones capable of restoring justice. What began as a simple payday is now the origin story behind Exandria’s newest heroes. Season 2 premieres January 2023.
