Sci Fi TV Development: Amazon Developing Last Known Position Series, Wonder Man Is Headed to Disney+

Amazon is developing a television series adaptation of Last Known Position based on the QCode podcast of the same name. Deadline gives the following description of the project:

Last Known Position charts the fallout of a brand new state-of-the-art American commercial jetliner vanishing on its maiden voyage over the Pacific. The ensuing air crash investigation discovers evidence of a creature of the deep that may have been responsible.

Gina Rodriquez (Annihilation) voiced the starring role in the podcast and will continue to the series in the same role.  Podcast creator Luke Passmore will be writing and executive producing and Amazon is likely targeting a 2023 premiere for the show.

Disney+ has yet another live-action MCU series in the works as Wonder Man will be heading to the streaming service.  Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) and Andrew Guest (Community) will be working together to bring the character to television.  Wonder Man started as a Superman-like character who received his abilities from Ionic energy.  He was originally introduced in Avengers #9 as a villain, but he later changed sides and became a hero while his powers increased allowing him to transform into pure ionic energy.  There is no indication at this point what the story direction of the series will be nor whether other MCU characters might crossover.  The streamer is currently looking at a 2023 premiere for the show.

HBO Max has given a series order to the adult-animated series Scavengers ReignDeadline gives the following description of the series:

Scavengers Reign is about the surviving crew of a damaged deep space freighter who are stranded on a beautiful yet unforgiving planet. They begin to learn the true nature of this planet as they try to survive long enough to escape or be rescued.

The series is co-created and will be executive produced by Joe Bennett and Charles Huettner and it is based on the animated short they created Scavenger (which is available on YouTube at this link).  HBO Max is looking at a 2023 premiere for the series.
